Mountain Biking in Chatel
Mountain biking has exploded over the last 15 years and Chatel has been at the front of this evolution. The resort is connected to the huge network of lifts that makes up the Portes du Soleil and creates exceptional “enduro” and “freeride” routes. The Chatel “Bike Park” is one of the best in Europe and will amuse, challenge and frighten the best downhill rider. Softer riding also exists with use of the Super Chatel Telecabine which gives you access to the tracks and trails of the Swiss resorts of Morgins, Les Crosets and Champery. “Ride the River” Family Riding
With the recent completion of the path that runs the length of the valley from Chatel to Abondance alongside the river, a whole new terrain has opened up for safe accessible riding. Twelve kms of smooth path that is shady and cool in the summer with only 150m of descent means all the family can ride. Stop off on your journey and visit the picturesque village of La Chapelle d’Abondance or take the chance to visit one of the local markets. Shop for cheese and local souvenirs along the way. Picnic by the river or eat in one of the many bars and restaurants accessible from the path.
We have a large range of great bikes available to rent for a full or half day so you can enjoy this lovely ride. Start and finish in Chatel, or if you wish this can be a one way ride and we will meet you in Abondance and drive you back to the start. Otherwise, we can pick up just the bikes and leave you to enjoy the Abbey and village before returning on one of the frequent buses. To reserve your bikes please contact us using the enquiry form below or send us an email to [email protected]
